Outdoormix Winter Festival

Sport and music at the top of the Alps

The Outdoormix Winter Festival was born from the passion of Alexandre Besseau, a professional kayaker, and his sports-loving friends who created the Outdoormix Festival in 2013 in Embrun. Since 2019, the winter version has been held on the slopes of Vars, an iconic ski resort in the Hautes-Alpes, for a weekend of skiing, competition, and partying at altitude.

Spectacular Sports Competitions

The heart of the festival lies in its sports competitions that push the limits of snow sports: snowskate, snowkayak, snow biking, freestyle skiing, and snowboarding. The Derby Outdoormix, the event's signature race, attracts riders from all over the world in a spirit of camaraderie and self-improvement. Free introductory sessions are offered throughout the weekend to allow the public to discover these original disciplines.

Concerts and DJ Sets at the Foot of the Slopes

From 5 PM on Friday and Saturday, a large heated marquee at the foot of the slopes hosts festival-goers for DJ sets and live concerts. The musical programming focuses on electro, house, drum & bass, trance, pop, and rock, creating a festive atmosphere after days of skiing. The event combines high-level sport and popular celebration in a spectacular mountain setting.

A Festival Village Open to All

The festival village brings together partner stands, food areas, and introductory zones for snow sports. The event is open to everyone, from experienced athletes to families on holiday in Vars. The festival contributes to the winter animation of the resort and the influence of the Hautes-Alpes as a land of outdoor sports and alternative culture.
