The ski and powder film festival on the big screen
Born in 2017 from the passion of the teams at Montaz, the leading French e-shop for riding and mountains founded in 1999, the We Love Pow Pow festival has become an unmissable event for the freeride ski and mountain community in just a few years. Every autumn, as the first snowflakes begin to whiten the Alpine peaks, the touring festival travels through Alpine cities to reignite the passion for skiing among enthusiasts.
The festival's concept is simple yet effective: gather the best freeride ski films of the year and screen them on the big screen in quality cinemas. For over two hours, spectators are immersed in spectacular footage of untouched powder, vertiginous couloirs, and breathtaking mountain landscapes. The selected films come from all over the world, from the slopes of Alaska to the Japanese couloirs, and the north faces of the Alps.
But the festival is more than just film screenings. It's also an opportunity to meet professional riders, share adventure stories, and collectively celebrate the mountains. The atmosphere is electric, a mix of excitement for the upcoming season and celebration of the past year's achievements.
We Love Pow Pow travels to several cities: Chambéry, Grenoble, Annecy, Lyon, and Aix-les-Bains. In Aix-les-Bains, screenings are held at the cinema Les Toiles du Lac, a modern cinema offering optimal viewing conditions. This Savoyard stop, at the foot of the Bauges mountains, is particularly popular with skiers in the region.
The festival embodies the DNA of Montaz, a Savoyard company founded in 1999 and based in Aix-les-Bains. A specialist in mountain and ski equipment, Montaz created this festival to share its passion and unite the community of powder lovers. We Love Pow Pow has thus become much more than a simple promotional event; it's a true moment of shared experience and collective celebration.
The Montaz Film Festival We Love Pow Pow celebrates its 10th edition in autumn 2026. The touring festival will once again stop in Aix-les-Bains for an evening of screenings at the cinema Les Toiles du Lac.
The program and exact dates for the 2026 tour will be announced in the fall on the festival's official website.
