Every year in November, for three weeks, the festival offers about twenty contemporary and heritage Italian films in their original version with subtitles, divided between competition, panorama, and heritage sections. Dolce Cinema: The Italian Film Encounters in Grenoble and Isère

Since 2006, the Dolce Cinema association has organized the Italian Film Encounters in Grenoble and Isère every autumn, a festival that has established itself as one of the major cultural events in the Grenoble metropolitan area. Entirely run by passionate volunteers, the festival's mission is to promote quality Italian cinema to all audiences.

A Rich and Diverse Program

Each edition offers a selection of about twenty films in their original version with subtitles, covering all cinematic genres:

  • Competition Section: Recent Italian films competing for the festival prize
  • Panorama Section: An overview of contemporary Italian production
  • Heritage Section: Rediscovery of classics from the history of Italian cinema, in partnership with the Cinémathèque de Grenoble and the Ciné-Club
  • School Section: Selection of films for school audiences

Fiction, documentary, drama, comedy: all genres are represented to offer the most complete panorama possible of Italian cinematic creation.

A Festival Rooted in the Territory

Screenings take place in several cinemas in Grenoble and Isère, notably at the Cinémathèque de Grenoble and the Le Méliès cinema. The festival extends beyond the metropolitan area by offering screenings in other towns in the department.

Partnerships and Support

Dolce Cinema benefits from the support of major institutional partners:

  • The Italian Cultural Institute of Lyon
  • The Université Grenoble Alpes (UFR SoCLE)
  • The Cinémathèque de Grenoble
  • The City of Grenoble and the Metropolis

Beyond Screenings

The festival also offers meetings with directors, post-screening debates, cultural events around Italian culture, and friendly evenings that make each edition a moment of sharing and discovery.
