Rock, pop, electro and hip-hop festival by the Bourget Lake
Born in 2002 from the passion of Rémi Perrier and Roland Zennaro, Musilac has established itself in just a few editions as one of the major festivals in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. Initially named "Musikolac" during its first edition held in a parking lot by the Bourget Lake, the festival quickly grew to occupy the Esplanade du Lac in Aix-les-Bains, a spectacular site between mountain and water that is now one of its major assets.
The Esplanade du Lac offers a breathtaking panorama of the Bourget Lake, the largest natural lake in France, and the surrounding mountains. This unique alpine setting gives Musilac a singular atmosphere among the major French festivals. Festival-goers can enjoy the lake's beaches and water activities between concerts, making Musilac a true musical holiday experience in Savoie.
Musilac stands out for its resolutely eclectic program that spans musical genres: rock, pop, electro, hip-hop, French chanson, and international variety. Over the years, the festival has hosted top artists such as Muse, The Cure, Depeche Mode, Stromae, IAM, -M-, Indochine, Massive Attack, The Chemical Brothers, and Orelsan. This ability to bring together international headliners and revelations from the French scene makes Musilac an event that appeals to diverse audiences and generations.
The festival features several stages on the Esplanade, including a large main stage facing the lake and secondary stages dedicated to electro and new discoveries. Concerts run from the afternoon until late at night, offering a dense program over four days. The cashless system facilitates transactions on site, and an official campsite with 3,000 places, located a twenty-minute walk away by the lake, allows festival-goers to have a fully immersive experience.
Musilac plays a major economic and tourist role for the spa town of Aix-les-Bains and the Savoie region. The festival generates significant returns for hotels, restaurants, and local businesses. It benefits from the support of local authorities and is part of a dynamic to promote the "Lac du Bourget" destination nationally and internationally.
With over 100,000 festival-goers expected each year, Musilac confirms its place among the major French music festivals edition after edition, combining a high-level program with the Savoyard art de vivre.
The 2026 edition of Musilac promises an exceptional lineup on the Esplanade du Lac in Aix-les-Bains. Among the confirmed artists: Gorillaz, Katy Perry, Jamiroquai, Orelsan, Bigflo & Oli, Charlotte Cardin, Pomme, Feu! Chatterton, Last Train, Miki, and Rilès.
