About Music Festival in Baie-Mahault
Every June 21, Baie-Mahault, in Guadeloupe, celebrates the Fête de la Musique (Music Festival): amateur musicians, local groups, and established artists play for free in the town center and throughout the commune. Organized by the City of Baie-Mahault, the day is entirely free and blends styles, from gwoka to urban music, from jazz to zouk, in a festive Creole atmosphere.
The Fête de la Musique in Baie-Mahault
As everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms the commune of Baie-Mahault, Guadeloupe's second-largest city, into an open-air stage every June 21. Music freely takes over public spaces, from late afternoon until late into the evening, across all genres and for all audiences.

Usually, Baie-Mahault's town center hosts a musical stroll connecting several lively sites, while bars, associations, and neighborhood stages extend the celebration. Baie-Mahault is annually among the most vibrant communes in Guadeloupe for this occasion, alongside Pointe-à-Pitre, Le Gosier, and Sainte-Anne.
