Every June 21, the town of Le Moule, on the Atlantic coast of Grande-Terre in Guadeloupe, celebrates the Fête de la Musique (Music Festival). Organized by the Town of Le Moule with the Departmental Council of Guadeloupe, the day is entirely free and brings music to life on the Place de la Mairie and in the town center.
The Fête de la Musique in Le Moule
As everywhere in France and its overseas territories since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms the town of Le Moule into an open-air stage every June 21. Music freely takes over public spaces, from afternoon until evening, blending styles in a popular and festive atmosphere in the heart of Grande-Terre.
A festival in the heart of the town
Usually, the Place de la Mairie hosts the main stage for the evening, while other locations in the town center extend the entertainment into the afternoon. The festival is supported by the Town of Le Moule in conjunction with the Departmental Council of Guadeloupe, which animates the event in several municipalities across the archipelago.
