Edition 2025 — Musicales de Saint-Maurice
The 14th edition of the Musicales de Saint-Maurice featured three exceptional concerts in the communal church: the Romain Leleu Sextet with “Bach Contemplation” (Friday), cellist Emmanuelle Bertrand in Bach’s Suites (Saturday), and the Trio Talweg in Schubert’s trios (Sunday).
14th Edition 2025 — Bach, Schubert, and Chamber Music Excellence
The 14th edition of the Musicales de Saint-Maurice lived up to all expectations from June 13th to 15th, 2025, in the beautiful Saint-Maurice Communal Church.
On Friday, June 13th at 8:30 PM, the Romain Leleu Sextet opened the festival with “Bach Contemplation” — a journey into the heart of the Cantor of Leipzig’s work, revisited by one of the finest trumpets on the French classical scene. Romain Leleu’s “impeccable technique, golden tone, and natural musicality” dazzled the audience.
On Saturday, June 14th at 8:30 PM, cellist Emmanuelle Bertrand performed three of Bach’s six Suites for Solo Cello alone, a meditation of rare intensity lasting one hour. Her “transparent sound, rhythmic rigor, and technical perfection” transported the audience into a state of musical contemplation.
On Sunday, June 15th at 6:00 PM, the Trio Talweg — Romain Descharmes on piano, Sébastien Surel on violin, Eric-Maria Couturier on cello — closed the festival with a romantic flourish, performing trios by Franz Schubert with poignant musical synergy.
