About Que du Feu

Que du Feu is the emerging film festival of Lyon and its metropolitan area. Born in 2016 at Jean Moulin Lyon 3 University under the name Festival du Film Jeune de Lyon (FFJL), it highlights short films made by young filmmakers who do not yet have access to traditional distribution channels. From 2026, Que du Feu and Fête du Clip will integrate into the Villeurbanne Short Film Festival, at Cinéma Le Zola, for a large common showcase of short films in the Lyon metropolitan area. Each autumn, a week of screenings, competitions, and professional meetings opens a window onto the cinema of tomorrow.

Que du Feu: Lyon's Emerging Cinema Festival

Que du Feu is the emerging film festival of Lyon and its metropolitan area. Founded in 2016 at Jean Moulin Lyon 3 University under the name Festival du Film Jeune de Lyon (FFJL), it adopted its current name in 2023 to better reflect its ambition: to reveal emerging filmmakers and support their first steps in the world of distribution and dissemination.

A New Dimension from 2026

In 2026, Que du Feu and Fête du Clip will join the Villeurbanne Short Film Festival. The three short film events of the Lyon metropolitan area unite for an expanded showcase of young creation, now hosted at Cinéma Le Zola, in Villeurbanne.

A Springboard for Tomorrow's Filmmakers

The festival's mission is to promote and disseminate audiovisual creations made by filmmakers who have little or no access to international festivals and professional markets, which are nevertheless essential for the development of their careers. Que du Feu thus offers a unique springboard for singular, audacious, and often invisible works in classic distribution channels.

A Rich and Diverse Program

Fiction, documentary, animation, experimental cinema: all genres are represented, with particular attention paid to the originality of perspective and the strength of the message. The selection is organized around several competitions: international competition, animation, «Courts Circuits» (self-produced films), «Courts d'École» (films from film schools and higher audiovisual education), and the music video selection from Fête du Clip.

Professional Meetings Open to All

Beyond the screenings, Que du Feu offers professional meetings open to the public, addressing current issues in the audiovisual industry. These round tables, workshops, and conferences provide young filmmakers with direct access to industry professionals.

Organized by Association LYF

The festival is organized by Association LYF, created in 2016 and registered at the Rhône prefecture. Since its foundation, the association has been committed to the city and metropolitan area of Lyon to promote young filmmakers and support them in the distribution and valorization of their works.

Que du Feu — edition 2026

The 11th edition of Que du Feu will take place from November 8th to 15th, 2026, now at Cinéma Le Zola in Villeurbanne. For the first time, Que du Feu and Fête du Clip are integrating into the Festival du Film Court de Villeurbanne, bringing together the three short film events of the Lyon metropolitan area around a selection of young filmmakers from around the world.

Que du Feu 2026 — 11th edition

The Que du Feu festival returns from November 8th to 15th, 2026 for its 11th edition, with a new format: Que du Feu and Fête du Clip are joining the Festival du Film Court de Villeurbanne, at Cinéma Le Zola, for a major joint showcase of short films in the Lyon metropolitan area.

The edition is structured around five competitions: international competition, animation competition, «Courts Circuits» (self-produced films), «Courts d'École» (films made within higher audiovisual and cinema training programs), and the emerging music video selection from Fête du Clip. Professional meetings open to the public will be held beforehand, from November 5th to 7th.

The call for projects (short films and music videos) was open from April 13th to July 13th, 2026. The selection and detailed day-by-day program will be announced in autumn 2026 on the festival's official website.
