Que du Feu: Lyon's Emerging Cinema Festival

Que du Feu is the emerging film festival of Lyon and its metropolitan area. Founded in 2016 at Jean Moulin Lyon 3 University under the name Festival du Film Jeune de Lyon (FFJL), it adopted its current name in 2023 to better reflect its ambition: to discover emerging filmmakers and support their first steps in the world of distribution and broadcasting.

A Springboard for Tomorrow's Filmmakers

The festival's mission is to promote and distribute audiovisual creations made by filmmakers who have little or no access to international festivals and professional markets, which are essential for the development of their careers. Que du Feu thus offers a unique springboard for singular, bold works that are often invisible in traditional distribution channels.

A Rich and Diverse Program

Each edition presents around 80 short films divided into thirteen thematic sessions, offering a comprehensive overview of contemporary young cinematic creation. Fiction, documentary, animation, experimental cinema: all genres are represented, with particular attention paid to the originality of the vision and the strength of the message.

Professional Meetings Open to All

Beyond the screenings, Que du Feu offers about ten professional meetings open to the public, addressing current issues in the audiovisual industry. These round tables, workshops, and conferences take place at the Public Factory of Lyon 3 University, at Pôle PIXEL - Studio 24, and at the Manufacture des Tabacs, providing young filmmakers with direct access to industry professionals.

An Accessible and Committed Festival

True to its commitment to cultural accessibility, Que du Feu offers a single price of 4 euros per session, allowing as many people as possible to discover emerging cinema. Screenings take place at the Karbone hall of the MJC Monplaisir, in the 8th arrondissement of Lyon, a friendly and human-sized venue.

Supported by the LYF Association

The festival is organized by the LYF Association, created in 2016 and registered with the Rhône prefecture. Since its foundation, the association has been committed to the city and metropolis of Lyon to promote young filmmakers and support them towards distribution and the promotion of their works in an international short film festival recognized by professionals.

The 11th edition of Que du Feu will take place in November 2026 in Lyon. The festival will continue its mission of promoting emerging cinema with a new selection of short films, professional meetings, and accessible screenings at the Karbone hall of MJC Monplaisir.
