Edition 2026 — Spirit in Black
The 2026 edition of the Spirit in Black Festival, named « Unwind », takes place on Thursday, August 13, Friday, August 14, and Sunday, August 16, 2026, between Colmar and Guebwiller in Haut-Rhin. Co-presented by the Hoplà! / Headbang association and Garmonbozia, this edition blends extreme metal and atmospheric music across two iconic Alsatian venues, featuring Cryptopsy, TEN56., Sanguisugabogg, and Alcest among the headliners.
Spirit in Black « Unwind » 2026: three evenings between Colmar and Guebwiller
For its return in 2026, the Spirit in Black Festival takes the name of « Unwind » and spans three evenings in August. On Thursday, August 13, and Friday, August 14, Le Grillen in Colmar hosts the most extreme evenings; on Sunday, August 16, La Nef des Dominicains de Haute-Alsace in Guebwiller closes the festival with a more atmospheric tone. The event is co-produced by the Hoplà! / Headbang association and Garmonbozia, staying true to a program that defies genre boundaries, from black metal to shamanic folk, passing through technical death metal, grindcore, and post-rock.
A program spanning death metal, deathcore, and post-black
Thursday's opening night features the deathcore of TEN56. and the psychedelic rock of Dead Meadow. Friday escalates in intensity with technical death metal veterans Cryptopsy, death metal acts Sanguisugabogg and 200 Stab Wounds, and black metal band Sordide. Sunday's closing night, set in the majestic surroundings of Les Dominicains de Guebwiller, is entrusted to the post-black metal of Alcest. Between concerts, festival-goers will find exhibitors and on-site catering.
