Terre en Fête 2026 in Moulay: The Grand Return to the Canton of Mayenne
After more than 30 years of absence, Terre en Fête returns to the canton of Mayenne for its 43rd edition, on August 15th and 16th, 2026 in the commune of Moulay. Organized by the Jeunes Agriculteurs de la Mayenne (JA 53), it is the largest rural event in the department: a committee of about thirty young farmers from the canton of Mayenne has been working on it since June 2025, with over 300 volunteers mobilized and 80 hectares of plots dedicated to demonstrations.
On the Program
The event blends agricultural traditions and new features: ploughing competitions, Moiss'Batt'Cross, an animal pole, a children's area, and an exhibition tracing the evolution of agricultural equipment from the 1960s to today. The 2026 edition also hosts a national tracto-cross round and a hill climb for agricultural machinery, as well as driving and maintenance demonstrations.
A Family-Friendly and Convivial Event
Terre en Fête focuses on welcoming families and fostering intergenerational transmission in the agricultural world. On-site catering highlights local products. Around twenty agricultural equipment exhibitors are expected, and the organization anticipates approximately 10,000 visitors over the weekend.

Terre en Fête: The Great Festival of Mayenne's Agriculture
Since 1982, Terre en Fête has been the unmissable event for agriculture in Mayenne. Organized every year by the Jeunes Agriculteurs (JA) of Mayenne, this traveling event moves from canton to canton, allowing each territory of the department to host the biggest open-air agricultural festival in the region in turn.
A Traveling Event Rooted in the Territory
The unique feature of Terre en Fête lies in its traveling nature: each year, a new Mayenne canton takes charge of organizing the event. This rotation helps to promote all rural territories in the department and mobilize local young farmers around a unifying project. The 2025 edition was held in Montjean (Loiron canton), while the 2026 edition will take place in Moulay (Mayenne canton), marking the event's return to this canton after more than 30 years.
Agricultural Demonstrations and Competitions
The Terre en Fête program highlights agricultural know-how through spectacular demonstrations:
- Departmental Plowing Competition: the best plowmen in the department compete in precision events
- Auto-cross: car races on a dirt track, with several heats over the two days
- Moiss'Batt'Cross: combine harvester races, an emblematic discipline of the festival, including an all-female race
- Tractor Demonstrations: presentation of old and modern agricultural machinery
Festive and Family Activities
Beyond the competitions, Terre en Fête offers a program of activities for the whole family: country meals (with 2,000 kg of fries served!), concerts, farm animal exhibitions, local producer stands, and areas to discover agricultural professions. The event also hosts seated meals that can accommodate 1,600 guests.
A Commitment to Agricultural Youth
Terre en Fête is above all a project driven by the young farmers of Mayenne. Each edition mobilizes around 300 volunteers, mainly young farmers from the organizing canton. The event serves as a showcase for agricultural professions and helps to create links between generations and rural areas.
Over 40 Years of Agricultural Celebration
With over 260,000 cumulative visitors since its creation and more than 40 editions, Terre en Fête has established itself as a pillar of rural life in Mayenne. The event demonstrates the vitality of agriculture in the department and the ability of young farmers to unite territories around moments of sharing and conviviality.
