Jazz Métis Journey at Théâtre du Vésinet — 3 evenings spread throughout the season (2025-2026 season: February, April, May 2026)
There is no edition scheduled in 2026 for this event. This page remains accessible to archive the history of the manifestation and will be updated if a new edition is announced.
The Vésinet Jazz Métis Festival is the jazz event of the Théâtre du Vésinet in Yvelines (78). Created in 2013 as a festival concentrated over three evenings in May, the event has become, over the past few seasons, a «Parcours Jazz Métis» (Jazz Métis Journey): three mixed jazz events offered throughout the theatre's season, no longer grouped into a single festival weekend. The formula maintains the same artistic standards — jazz, world music, Latin jazz, funk, soul, world music — in the intimate setting of the Italian-style hall. For the 2025-2026 season, the journey brings together Nesrine (February 10, 2026), Monsieur Mâlâ (April 2, 2026), and Richard Galliano (May 5, 2026).
Launched in 2013 (inheriting from the Vésinet Jazz Piano Festival), the Vésinet Jazz Métis Festival first established itself as an annual event of three evenings in May at the Théâtre du Vésinet, dedicated to mixed jazz: Afro-Cuban jazz, Latin jazz, funk, soul, gypsy jazz, klezmer music, afrobeat. The 10th anniversary edition was held from May 11 to 13, 2023, with Harold López-Nussa Trio, Naïssam Jalal & Rythms of Resistance, and Brooklyn Funk Essentials.
The event has since evolved into a «Parcours Jazz Métis» (Jazz Métis Journey) integrated into the Théâtre du Vésinet's season: three evenings of mixed jazz are now offered throughout the season rather than grouped into a single festival weekend. The artistic direction remains faithful to the spirit of the festival (dialogue between major figures of the genre and emerging talents), but the rhythm changes: approximately one concert per quarter, accessible with a season subscription or individually.
Over the seasons, the event has hosted leading artists such as John Scofield, Roberto Fonseca, Lisa Simone, Seun Kuti, Dhafer Youssef, Harold López-Nussa, David Krakauer, Airelle Besson, Naïssam Jalal, and the San Francisco Jazz Collective, fostering dialogue between global jazz traditions.
The Théâtre du Vésinet — Cinéma Jean Marais, an Italian-style hall with approximately 450 seats nestled in the heart of the classified park-town, offers a rare proximity between artists and spectators. The town of Le Vésinet, renowned for its exceptional landscaped heritage (lakes, lawns, Belle Époque villas), provides an enchanting setting for these jazz events, just 15 minutes from the center of Paris by RER A.
Supported by the City of Le Vésinet via the Théâtre du Vésinet and by the Department of Yvelines, the Parcours Jazz Métis contributes to the cultural influence of western Paris.
No concentrated festival edition in Le Vésinet in May 2026. Le Vésinet Jazz Métis has abandoned the multi-day festival format and now offers a « Parcours Jazz Métis » (Mixed Jazz Journey): three evenings of mixed jazz spread throughout the season of the Théâtre du Vésinet. For the 2025-2026 season, the journey brings together Nesrine (February 10, 2026), Monsieur Mâlâ (April 2, 2026), and Richard Galliano (May 5, 2026), all at the Théâtre du Vésinet at 8:30 PM.
Le Vésinet Jazz Métis Festival will not be held as a concentrated festival in May 2026. The event, launched in 2013, has since the 2025-2026 season become a « Parcours Jazz Métis » (Mixed Jazz Journey): three evenings of mixed jazz are now spread throughout the season of the Théâtre du Vésinet rather than grouped over a few days in May. Prices vary depending on the evenings (from approximately €19, up to approximately €42 depending on the artists and seating). Tickets available on site at the Théâtre du Vésinet, online at theatreduvesinet.fr, as well as on Fnac Spectacles and BilletReduc. Box office open Tuesday to Saturday from 3 PM to 7 PM, phone 01 30 15 66 00.
The last documented edition of the concentrated festival dates back to May 2023 (10th anniversary edition, from May 11 to 13, 2023, with Harold López-Nussa Trio, Naïssam Jalal & Rythms of Resistance, and Brooklyn Funk Essentials). The Théâtre du Vésinet has since integrated the mixed jazz programming into its regular artistic season, under the title Parcours Jazz Métis.
No concentrated festival in May 2026: the three evenings are spread throughout the theatre's season.
