Great classical concerts in the historic heritage of Le Vésinet
Since 2015, the Automne Musical du Vésinet has been filling the heritage buildings of this unique garden city in the Yvelines with classical music. The festival was born from the initiative of the association L'Esprit Musical du Vésinet, founded by music and heritage enthusiasts, with the active support of the City of Le Vésinet. The ambition is twofold: to offer excellent classical concerts accessible to all and to participate in the restoration and enhancement of the commune's heritage.
The Automne Musical is distinguished by its choice of three concert venues, each a jewel of Le Vésinet's heritage. The Sainte-Marguerite church, classified as a historic monument since 2016, offers remarkable acoustics and a striking architectural setting for major works of sacred and symphonic repertoire. The Protestant temple of Le Vésinet, a building of character with warm acoustics, hosts chamber music and ensemble programs. The Le Vésinet hospital, a historic building with a unique charm, provides an unusual and intimate setting for original concerts.
In its decade of existence, the Automne Musical du Vésinet has attracted leading musicians. Among the artists who have honored the festival with their talent are harpist Marielle Nordmann, pianist Anne Queffélec, and pianist François-René Duchâble, three major figures on the French classical scene. The programming covers a wide repertoire, from Baroque to Romantic, from sacred music to opera, as well as major symphonic works. The 2025 edition notably featured a concert around Vivaldi's *Four Seasons*, a Bernstein *West Side Story* program, and Mozart's *Great Mass in C minor*.
Le Vésinet, a commune in the Yvelines located west of Paris, is an exceptional garden city created in the mid-19th century according to a visionary urban planning scheme integrating parks, lakes, and lawns into the urban fabric. Classified as a remarkable site, the city offers a unique living environment and architectural heritage in the Île-de-France region. The Automne Musical is fully in line with this identity by combining classical music and heritage, contributing to the cultural influence of a commune that has always placed art and beauty at the heart of its project.
The Automne Musical du Vésinet returns in November 2026 for its 11th edition. Three classical music concerts will be scheduled in the heritage sites of the garden city: Sainte-Marguerite church, the Protestant temple, and the Le Vésinet hospital. The program will be announced in the fall of 2026.
