About Jazz au Fil de l'Oise

Created nearly thirty years ago, Jazz au Fil de l'Oise is the major jazz festival of the Val-d'Oise. Traveling by nature, it takes over about twenty towns in the department each autumn, from Cergy to Pontoise, including Enghien-les-Bains and L'Isle-Adam. It mixes acoustic jazz, electric jazz, experimental music, and world music in human-sized venues.

Jazz au Fil de l'Oise: The Autumn Music of the Val-d'Oise

For almost thirty years, the Jazz au Fil de l'Oise festival has enlivened the cultural life of the Val-d'Oise in the autumn. Its 29th edition in 2025 once again confirmed the vitality and relevance of this unmissable event, which each year reaches about twenty towns in the department with a national and international-caliber jazz program.

Born from the desire to create a traveling event rooted in the local cultural fabric, Jazz au Fil de l'Oise is part of the "L'Art du collectif" network, which brings together about ten cultural organizations from the Val-d'Oise in partnership with the Ministry of Culture. This collective affiliation gives the festival legitimacy and resources commensurate with its artistic ambitions.

A Truly Traveling Festival

The uniqueness of Jazz au Fil de l'Oise lies in its profoundly traveling nature. The concerts are not concentrated in a single city but spread throughout the Val-d'Oise territory, reaching diverse towns such as Cergy, Pontoise, Enghien-les-Bains, L'Isle-Adam, Vauréal, Saint-Ouen-l'Aumône, and many others. This musical geography allows the festival to reach very varied audiences, from loyal jazz enthusiasts to curious newcomers.

Partner Venues

The festival relies on a network of partner venues across the Val-d'Oise, including Points communs / Théâtre 95 in Cergy, which is one of the festival's main stages. Concerts are held in theaters, community halls, media libraries, and sometimes unusual spaces, creating an intimate relationship between artists and the public each time.

An Eclectic and Demanding Program

Jazz au Fil de l'Oise stands out for a program that rejects rigid categories and embraces a broad vision of contemporary jazz. Recent editions have featured artists at the crossroads of acoustic jazz, electronic music, improvised music, and traditions from around the world. The 29th edition, in 2025, notably highlighted Giorgi Mikadze, a Georgian pianist whose subtle improvisations dialogue between jazz and classical music, and Yom, a virtuoso clarinetist whose creation Hypnotic Temple blends jazz, electro, and tribal sounds.

A Festival Committed to Musical Diversity

Beyond the programming, Jazz au Fil de l'Oise is committed to cultural democratization. Accessible prices, a 20 EUR membership card offering discounts on all concerts, and outreach activities with schools demonstrate a desire to make jazz an art open to all, in a department characterized by its great social and cultural diversity.
