Au Bord de l'Aube — edition 2026
The Festival Au Bord de l'Aube returns on Saturday, July 11, 2026 in La Pellière, Dienville, in a one-day version. Compagnie de l'Aube offers a more condensed edition this year, as the festival deploys its most extensive program every two years. The program for this open-air evening by the Aube river includes: two shows combining theatre, music, and poetry, in a friendly natural setting.
An evening of live performance by the Aube river
For 2026, the Festival Au Bord de l'Aube focuses on a single evening, Saturday, July 11, in La Pellière (35 rue de la Pellière, Dienville). This is a deliberately smaller edition: Compagnie de l'Aube reserves its most significant program for a biennial rhythm. The site opens from 6 PM, with refreshments and food available on site, in the warm spirit that has made the event's reputation since its creation in 2022.
Two open-air shows
The evening offers two outdoor creations:
- « HOP-LA! » — musical show by Agnès Debord and Didier Bailly.
- « NOVASTELLA » — music and words show by Cie Sangs-Mêlés.
The festival maintains its local roots and family atmosphere, by the Aube river, amidst nature, music, and live performance. Reservation is highly recommended, as capacity is limited.

An intimate theater festival on the banks of the Aube river
Born in 2022 from the passion of Hélène Cohen, actress, director, and screenwriter for television, and Olivier Blottière, the Au Bord de l'Aube Festival has quickly established itself as a unique theatrical and literary event in the cultural landscape of Aube. Located at La Pellière, on the banks of the Aube river in Dienville, the two founders created the association La Cie de l'Aube to bring this festival to life, celebrating performing arts in an exceptional natural setting, between forests, river, and gardens.
Theatrical performances mixing professionals and amateurs
The heart of the Au Bord de l'Aube Festival lies in its theatrical programming, which showcases major contemporary and classic playwrights. The staging of Joël Pommerat, with plays like Le Petit Chaperon rouge, sits alongside the works of Federico García Lorca, such as La Savetière prodigieuse. The festival's originality lies in its participatory approach: the performances are interpreted by professional actors alongside the Dienville theater troupe, creating authentic artistic encounters between established artists and local enthusiasts. Performances take place each afternoon and evening, offering several opportunities to discover the creations.
Literary and musical encounters in the gardens
In the afternoon, the festival opens its gardens for intimate literary and musical encounters. Actors offer readings of excerpts from selected works, and exchanges between the public and invited authors extend these moments of sharing. Music naturally finds its place in these green gatherings, creating an atmosphere conducive to discovery and reflection. The site, accessible from 2 p.m., invites leisurely strolls along the banks of the Aube before the shows.
A convivial place to be in the heart of nature
The festival is also a place to live and socialize. A refreshment bar is open all day from 2 p.m., and after the evening show, spectators can enjoy “Les Spécialités de Papatte”, grilled dishes and salads made from local products. Free parking is available for visitors. All of this creates a complete and warm cultural experience, where the show continues over a drink and a shared meal by the water, in a simple and generous atmosphere.
