The National Day in Chaville: Fireworks at the Ursine Pond

Chaville (92370) is a green commune in the Hauts-de-Seine with approximately 20,000 inhabitants, nestled between the forests of Fausses-Reposes and Meudon. Each year, the town celebrates the National Day in an exceptional natural setting: the Ursine Pond, a large body of water located on Rue Albert Perdreaux, which offers an ideal stage for the annual pyrotechnic show.

Fireworks in Collaboration with Vélizy-Villacoublay

The unique aspect of the National Day in Chaville is its fireworks co-organized with the commune of Vélizy-Villacoublay. This inter-municipal cooperation allows for a large-scale pyrotechnic display, more ambitious than what each town could finance individually. The fireworks are launched from the banks of the Ursine Pond at 11 PM on July 14th.

Each year, the pyrotechnic show is developed around a carefully chosen musical theme. One memorable edition was dedicated to cinema musicals, with excerpts from iconic productions accompanying the light bursts. This work of sound and visual staging distinguishes Chaville's fireworks from more ordinary shows.

The Ursine Pond is a body of water nestled in greenery, at the edge of the large forests surrounding Chaville. Its natural and relaxing setting attracts many families who settle on the banks well before the show begins. Picnics, blankets, and cushions are essential to best enjoy the fireworks reflecting on the water's surface.

Chaville is a town with rich natural and architectural heritage, with its classified forests, ponds, and its proximity to the castles of Versailles and Meudon.
