International Chamber Music Festival
The Festival Sérénade is an international chamber music festival that takes place every summer in Surgères. For three days in early August, the Parc du Château and the forecourt of the Église Notre-Dame host free, high-quality concerts performed by internationally renowned musicians. Created by the association Music'Art diffusion, this festival brings to life the most beautiful pieces of the chamber music repertoire.
The Festival Sérénade has established itself as a major event for chamber music in Nouvelle-Aquitaine. Since its creation, the festival has invited internationally renowned musicians to perform in the enchanting setting of Surgères, offering the public concerts of very high artistic quality.
Each edition brings together prestigious musicians from France and Europe. Among the regular artists: Régis Pasquier (violin), Etsuko Hirose (piano), Benedict Klöckner (cello), Clémence de Forceville (violin), Pierre Lénert (viola), and many others. These leading artists offer remarkable interpretations of the masterpieces of the chamber music repertoire.
