International Chamber Music Festival
The Festival Sérénade has established itself as a major event for chamber music in Nouvelle-Aquitaine. Since its creation, the festival has invited internationally renowned musicians to perform in the enchanting setting of Surgères, offering the public concerts of very high artistic quality.
Each edition brings together prestigious musicians from France and Europe. Among the regular artists: Régis Pasquier (violin), Etsuko Hirose (piano), Benedict Klöckner (cello), Clémence de Forceville (violin), Pierre Lénert (viola), and many others. These leading artists offer remarkable interpretations of the masterpieces of the chamber music repertoire.
The concerts take place in two emblematic locations in Surgères: the Parc du Château for open-air concerts and the forecourt of the Église Notre-Dame. These historic and acoustically remarkable settings enhance the performed works, from Mozart to Tchaikovsky, including Brahms and Fauré.
True to its mission of democratizing classical music, the Festival Sérénade offers all its concerts for free, allowing as many people as possible to discover the treasures of chamber music.
