The Chablis Flower Market was a friendly spring event traditionally held at Place Lafayette and in the historic center of this village, listed among the most beautiful in Burgundy. This event brought together residents, gardeners, and wine lovers in a festive and colorful atmosphere.

A plant and craft market

The Flower Market offered a diverse and carefully selected range of plants:

• Seasonal cut flowers and floral arrangements
• Ornamental plants: perennials, geraniums, petunias, fuchsias, and balcony plants
• Vegetable seedlings: tomatoes, zucchini, lettuce, herbs, and heirloom vegetables
• Shrubs and roses adapted to the Burgundian terroir
• Aromatic plants for the garden and kitchen

Local artisans complemented the plant offerings: basket weavers offering baskets and containers, beekeepers with their Burgundy honeys, potters and their terracotta creations, gardening tools, and garden accessories.

The Wine Market: when flower meets Grand Cru

The unique Chablis aspect of this event was the coexistence of the horticultural market with a true Yonne wine market. Winemakers from the Chablis appellation and other AOCs in the Yonne (Irancy, Saint-Bris, Bourgogne Côtes d'Auxerre) took advantage of this day to open their cellars and offer tastings directly at their estates. A natural marriage between the floral beauty of spring and the wine treasures of the Chablis region.
