Courses Nature des Coëvrons: Trail Running in the Heart of Mayenne
Created in 2023, the Courses Nature des Coëvrons have quickly established themselves as an unmissable trail running event in northwestern France. Organized by CA Évron, these nature runs explore the remarkable landscapes of the Coëvrons, a granite massif located between Évron and Sainte-Suzanne, in the heart of the Mayenne department.
Three Courses for All Levels
The event offers three distances suitable for all types of runners:
- Le Gué de Selle (8 km): A course accessible from age 16, ideal for beginners or nature running enthusiasts who want to discover the site in a short format.
- Le Montaigu (20 km, 350 m D+): An intermediate trail open to runners aged 18 and over, offering a beautiful immersion in the forests and hollow paths of the Coëvrons.
- Les 2 Monts (50 km, 1000 m D+): The main event, reserved for runners aged 20 and over, which connects Mont Rochard to Montaigu through a demanding, primarily forest course.
An Exceptional Natural Setting
The Gué de Selle site, the start and finish point for all races, offers a green setting on the edge of the Mézangers lake. The courses wind through deciduous and coniferous forests, hollow paths lined with hedgerows, and the granite ridges of the Coëvrons, offering remarkable panoramas of the Mayenne countryside.
Preserved Trails
The unique feature of these races is the quality of the trails offered: mainly forest paths and gently rolling trails, with only 2 km of paved road for the 20 km and 50 km courses. This immersion in nature is one of the main attractions of the event.
A Friendly and Accessible Event
The Courses Nature des Coëvrons are distinguished by their friendly atmosphere and meticulous organization. Aid stations are placed along the courses, and an awards ceremony brings all participants together at 1:00 PM with prizes and trophies for the best runners. Each participant receives a souvenir of their race. The event hosts approximately 600 runners each year and continues to grow.
