The world's largest knife show, in Thiers, the world capital of cutlery
Created in 1991 in Thiers, the world capital of cutlery, Coutellia is the largest international festival of art and tradition knives in the world. Every year in May, over two days, it brings together more than 300 exhibitors from 23 countries over 2,500 m² of exhibition space. Organized by the CCI Puy-de-Dôme, the festival hosts art cutlers, artisans, and enthusiasts with blacksmithing demonstrations, cutlery contests, and an outdoor cutlery village.
Since 1991, Coutellia has established itself as the world's largest international festival of art and tradition knives. Organized annually in Thiers, the historic cradle of French cutlery, this two-day show brings together the best cutlers and artisans from around the globe in a unique event dedicated to the art of the knife.
With over 300 exhibitors from 23 countries, Coutellia offers an exceptional panorama of global cutlery. Visitors can discover unique pieces created by master cutlers, artisan blacksmiths, and art knife designers. The exhibition spans 2,500 m² at the former Flowserve site, Avenue du Progrès in Thiers.
Beyond the main exhibition, Coutellia offers a range of activities and events:
The choice of Thiers as the host city for Coutellia is no coincidence. This town in the Puy-de-Dôme region is the historic cradle of French cutlery, a tradition dating back to the Middle Ages. Even today, Thiers is home to a large part of French cutlery production and numerous artisan workshops. The festival helps to promote this unique know-how internationally.
Organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Puy-de-Dôme, Coutellia benefits from a rigorous professional framework while remaining accessible to the general public. The show welcomes both seasoned collectors and the curious eager to discover the fascinating world of art knives.
The 35th edition of Coutellia will be held on May 16-17, 2026 in Thiers. The world's largest art knife show will once again host over 300 exhibitors from 23 countries for two days dedicated to art and tradition cutlery.
Coutellia returns for its 35th edition on May 16-17, 2026, at the Avenue du Progrès site in Thiers. More than 300 exhibitors from 23 countries will showcase their expertise over 2,500 m² of exhibition space.
