A friendly and authentic event

The atmosphere of the fair is characterized by its friendliness and authenticity. On Sunday morning, a traditional cabbage soup is offered to exhibitors and visitors, perpetuating the spirit of sharing that defines the event. The cutlery heritage of the Durolle valley

La Monnerie-le-Montel is located in the Durolle valley, a river that has provided hydraulic power to forges and cutlery workshops for centuries. The Thiers basin is the leading cutlery center in France, heir to centuries-old know-how that has shaped the identity of an entire region. The fair is part of this tradition by highlighting the vitality and renewal of French artisanal cutlery.

The association Les Vieilles Lames, organizer of the fair, works to preserve and pass on the cutlery heritage. It brings together enthusiasts, collectors, and artisans around the preservation of traditional French cutlery skills.
