About Nouvelles Voix
Established in 2005 by the Théâtre de Villefranche and the Communauté d'agglomération Villefranche Beaujolais Saône, Nouvelles Voix en Beaujolais is a discovery festival dedicated to contemporary music. Every October, for two weeks, concerts are held between the main stage of the Théâtre de Villefranche-sur-Saône and a variety of venues provided by Beaujolais towns: churches, breweries, wine cellars, libraries, and municipal halls.
Nouvelles Voix — edition 2026
From Tuesday, October 6th to Saturday, October 17th, 2026, Nouvelles Voix en Beaujolais will host sixteen events at the Théâtre de Villefranche-sur-Saône and in eight surrounding towns. The three main stage evenings on October 15th, 16th, and 17th will feature Léman, Ebony, Zélie, Juste Shani, Ofé, St Graal, and Copycat. The €5 afterwork sessions will take place in a brewery, two churches, and a wine cellar.

A festival of discovery since 2005
Nouvelles Voix en Beaujolais was born in 2005 from a partnership between the Théâtre de Villefranche, a nationally recognized stage for art and creation, and the Communauté d'agglomération Villefranche Beaujolais Saône. It showcases emerging contemporary music artists at the start of their careers.
Past performers include Stromae in 2011, Clara Luciani, Juliette Armanet, and Eddy de Pretto on the same bill in 2017, Angèle in 2018, and Zaho de Sagazan in 2023, all before they achieved national fame.
A journey through the Beaujolais region
The festival is not confined to a single venue. While headlining shows take place on the main stage of the Théâtre de Villefranche on Place des Arts, the heart of the festival travels through neighboring towns: village churches, wine cellars, breweries, cultural centers, and libraries. These one-hour concerts, known as "afterworks," start at 7:00 PM, cost 5 €, and conclude with a drink.
A gateway for local musicians
Winners of "l'ampli," the local authority's support program for amateur musicians aged 15 to 30, take the stage at the festival. The program also includes residencies, training, and the recording and national distribution of an EP. In 2026, students from the music program at the Lycée Claude Bernard in Villefranche will open one of the evenings after fourteen hours of workshops with the featured artist.
