The Street Art Rillieux Festival returns for its 5th edition from October 12 to 24, 2026. Ten artists—Abys²Fly, Étien', Floé, Fouapa, Osru, Quetzilla, SATR, Snek, Spirale, and Les Toki—will be painting seven new murals on the streets of Rillieux-la-Pape. The program includes tours of Le Seize, guided urban walks, a group exhibition at the médiathèque de l'Échappée, and the participatory Inside Out project. Free admission.

5th edition, October 12 to 24, 2026

Spacejunk Lyon continues to lead the Street Art Rillieux festival, with the City renewing the association's mandate for the 2025-2027 period. Eleven artists and seven murals are planned for this 5th edition, featuring two weeks of live painting. The ten names confirmed so far are Abys²Fly, Étien', Floé, Fouapa, Osru, Quetzilla, SATR, Snek, Spirale, and Les Toki. The specific walls and painting schedule are yet to be announced.

Le Seize, the final year

Open since September 2024 in the basement of 16 avenue du Mont-Blanc, the “cabinet of curiosities” exhibition will close on October 31, 2026, as the building is slated for demolition. Veks Van Hillik served as artistic director and invited ten other artists, each of whom transformed a room with their paintings, sculptures, and installations. The guided tour lasts 55 minutes and must be booked in advance: the organizers have opened 53 slots during the festival.

Two weeks, including one during the holidays

The second week is scheduled during the autumn school holidays to ensure young people and families can attend. This is also when Le Seize extends its hours, with tours starting as early as 11 AM. The team is also looking for volunteers, particularly for Wednesdays and Saturdays.

A partial program

Tours, walks, and Inside Out sessions are scheduled and open for booking. Graffiti performances, introductory workshops, urban sports, mural inaugurations, and the show are featured on the poster but had no dates or times as of mid-August 2026.

Street Art Rillieux: When Walls Tell Stories

Since 2022, the Street Art Rillieux Festival has established itself as a major urban art event in the Lyon metropolitan area. Entrusted to the Spacejunk Lyon association by the City of Rillieux-la-Pape, this ambitious festival transforms the town's walls into an open-air gallery each autumn, where artists from around the world come to create monumental works intended to dialogue durably with the inhabitants and the urban space.

Two Weeks of Artistic Effervescence

For fifteen days in October, Rillieux-la-Pape lives to the rhythm of street art. Each day brings its share of live creations: artists take over facades, gables, and blind walls to give birth to monumental frescoes before the fascinated eyes of passers-by. The festival also features fresco unveilings, solemn moments when the completed work is revealed to the public in an atmosphere of collective celebration.

Le Seize: An Ephemeral Cabinet of Curiosities

A true gem of the festival, Le Seize is an ephemeral exhibition space located in the basements of a building in the Mont-Blanc district. Across 150 m², street artists create an immersive universe, a true cabinet of curiosities blending surrealism, commitment, and poetry. This unique installation, conceived as a total experience, is one of the festival's most memorable moments.

Activities for All Audiences

The Street Art Rillieux Festival offers a rich and varied program beyond the frescoes. Guided urban walks allow visitors to discover the works from previous editions and new creations. Artistic workshops introduce young and old to graffiti and stencil techniques. Conferences and screenings shed light on the history and challenges of contemporary street art. Dance battles and skateboarding demonstrations complete this multidisciplinary program.

An Artistic Heritage Under Construction

Edition after edition, the festival enriches the artistic heritage of Rillieux-la-Pape with lasting works that transform the daily lives of its residents. The frescoes created in previous editions now form a permanent street art trail that can be discovered year-round throughout the town's streets. This ever-expanding open-air museum makes Rillieux-la-Pape a must-visit destination for urban art enthusiasts.

Spacejunk Lyon: Expertise Serving the Territory

The Spacejunk Lyon association, led by Jérôme Catz, an artistic director renowned in the street art world, brings its curatorial expertise and international artist network to the festival. This collaboration between a specialized organization and a committed community makes the Street Art Rillieux Festival a model of ambitious territorial cultural policy.
