Celebration of the Nationale 7 and vintage vehicles in Pougues-les-Eaux
Faites de la N7 is a biennial event organized in Pougues-les-Eaux in homage to the mythical Route Nationale 7, 996 km long, connecting Paris to Menton. Pougues-les-Eaux, an emblematic stop on this holiday route, hosts exhibitions of vintage vehicles, elegance contests, tourist rallies, book sales and signings, a market for local products, and activities for children. The event celebrates the nostalgia of holiday departures and traffic jams on the N7.
The Route Nationale 7, nicknamed "the holiday route" or "the blue route," is a mythical 996 km road connecting Notre-Dame de Paris to Menton. From the 1930s to the 1970s, it was the main artery used by millions of French people to reach the south and the Côte d'Azur. Pougues-les-Eaux, a small spa town crossed by the N7, was a well-known stop for holidaymakers.
Every two years, Faites de la N7 revives the spirit of the Nationale 7 for a weekend in Pougues-les-Eaux. The event brings together vintage car enthusiasts, nostalgic holidaymakers, and families around a rich and varied program.
The heart of the event is the exhibition of vintage vehicles: classic cars, vintage utility vehicles, motorcycles, and military vehicles are presented by their passionate owners. Iconic models from the 1950s to the 1980s recall the golden age of summer departures on the N7.
An elegance contest rewards the most beautiful vehicles presented, while a tourist rally invites crews to explore the picturesque roads of the Nièvre region.
Beyond the vehicles, Faites de la N7 offers:
Pougues-les-Eaux is intimately linked to the history of the Nationale 7. The former spa town, with its casino and Belle Époque villas, was a mandatory stop for motorists. The event helps to promote this road and architectural heritage while boosting the town's tourist appeal.
