Every late November, the Royal Forges of Guérigny host the town's Christmas market, organized as part of the Artistic Recycling Festival led by Sophie Juramy. Known as "Christmas of Artistic Recycling", this event takes place in the François-Mitterrand hall, on the heritage site of the former royal navy forges, and opens the festive season in the Nevers urban area.
Handcrafted Creations from Recycling
The unique feature of this Christmas market lies in its guiding principle: artistic recycling. Exhibitors, artists, and artisans present unique and environmentally friendly creations, made from recovered and repurposed materials:
- Jewelry, bags, and accessories
- Paintings, photographs, and plant-based papers
- Christmas decorations, lamps, and small robots
- Garden ceramics, metal and cardboard sculptures
- Basketry, tapestries, clothing, and semi-precious stones
Several creators work live on site, offering visitors a glimpse of their expertise. A second space, the Olympe-de-Gouges hall, regularly hosts activities such as a collective fresco on recycled canvas.

The Royal Forges of Guérigny are an exceptional industrial site. Developed under the direction of the Royal Navy, they produced anchors for French warships for over two centuries. The Guérigny Christmas Market, named « Artistic Recycling Christmas », returns on Saturday, November 28 and Sunday, November 29, 2026 at the Forges Royales (François-Mitterrand hall). Around thirty artists and artisans will present unique creations made from recycled materials: jewelry, paintings, Christmas decorations, ceramics, sculptures and much more. Free entry from 10 am to 6 pm.
