The ceramic meeting place of Grand Charolais between heritage and know-how
Grand Charolais is a land of ceramics. Since the 19th century, the Digoin and Charolles factories have perpetuated artisanal know-how recognized throughout France. It is to celebrate this living heritage that the Fayencez-vous ! festival was created in 2023, supported by the Intercommunal Tourist Office of Grand Charolais.
The originality of Fayencez-vous ! lies in its travelling nature. The festival unfolds across three emblematic towns of Burgundian ceramic heritage: Digoin, the cradle of the famous stoneware factory founded in 1875, Charolles, renowned for its exceptional earthenware, and Paray-le-Monial, a city of art that houses the Paul Charnoz museum and its remarkable collections.
The program for each edition is a true gastronomic menu for lovers of ceramic arts:
For its third edition in 2026, Fayencez-vous ! explores the relationship between ceramics and gastronomy under the theme "Ceramics go to the table!". The festival focuses on the container and the content, the ceramic object as a setting for flavors and culinary traditions. On the program: a faience banquet where guests and enthusiasts share their love of ceramic art around a table set with exceptional pieces.
New for 2026, the festival offers the exploration of little-known industrial sites, witnesses to the region's rich ceramic past, as well as a boat trip for an original discovery of the Grand Charolais's river industrial heritage.
The 3rd edition of Fayencez-vous! takes place from Thursday, June 4 to Sunday, June 7, 2026, on the theme "Ceramics come to the table!". Four days of itinerant ceramic festivities between Digoin, Charolles, and Paray-le-Monial: visits to manufactures (Charolles and Digoin-1875), a 100% ceramic and tableware flea market, an unprecedented conference, a commented boat trip on the Canal du Centre, pottery workshops, museum visits, and exploration of industrial sites.
