Festival dedicated to artistic creation by women in Ermont
Féminin Pluriel is a multidisciplinary festival dedicated to female artistic creation, organized in Ermont in the Val-d'Oise. Born from the desire to give greater visibility to women artists in all fields — music, dance, theater, visual arts, and performing arts — the festival takes over different venues in the city to offer an eclectic and committed program. Unprecedented shows, meetings, and original creations celebrate the diversity and vitality of artistic creation by women in Île-de-France.
Ermont, a dynamic town of 27,000 inhabitants in the Val-d'Oise, hosts an annual festival that stands out for its commitment: Féminin Pluriel. Born from a simple but still relevant observation — the under-representation of women in artistic programming — the festival has made the radical and positive choice to exclusively highlight women artists in all their diversity.
The project is driven by a team determined to change the perception of female creation, to show that art made by women is not a niche but a vast and multiple continent. Sophia Aram and Sam Karmann, recognized artists in the French cultural landscape, have lent their support by sponsoring the festival in its early editions, giving it national visibility. This seal of artistic quality has helped establish the festival's credibility from its inception.
The richness of Féminin Pluriel lies in its multidisciplinary nature. The festival is not just a music festival, nor solely a theater festival: it embraces the entire spectrum of performing arts and contemporary creation. You can see dance performances blending classical and contemporary styles, music concerts in various genres (chanson, jazz, world music, rock), theater plays, performances, and visual arts exhibitions.
During its early editions, Féminin Pluriel offered around thirty performances, including four original and unprecedented creations, spread across thirteen venues in the Yvelines and Val-d'Oise. This itinerancy between several towns and types of venues — performance halls, media libraries, cultural centers, public spaces — reflects the desire to reach a diverse audience and not concentrate cultural life in one single spot.
Among the artists who have participated in the festival editions, we can mention the dancer and choreographer Marie-Claude Pietragalla, a guiding figure of French dance, who brought her presence and prestige to the festival. The singer-songwriter Clarika, an artist recognized for her sharp lyrics and unique musical universe, was also among the guests. These presences confirm the artistic ambition of the festival, which does not settle for local names but aims for national quality programming.
The audience in Ermont and the Val-d'Oise has given these editions a warm welcome, appreciating the festival's positive and inclusive message. Féminin Pluriel is not a militant festival in the strict sense: it is not about denouncing but about showing and celebrating, demonstrating through artistic action that women create powerful, original, and essential works.
Ermont is well served by transport from Paris (RER C, Transilien line H), making Féminin Pluriel accessible from the entire Parisian agglomeration. The town has several cultural facilities that serve as settings for the performances: Espace Germinal, the city's main performance hall, is the festival's flagship venue, while other more unexpected locations contribute to creating surprise and renewing the experiences of encounters between artists and the public.
The 2026 edition of Féminin Pluriel takes over Ermont and the Val-d'Oise in the spring. The multidisciplinary program celebrates female artistic creation with dance, music, theater, and performing arts in various venues in the city and the department.
Féminin Pluriel returns in the spring of 2026 for a new edition dedicated to women artists in all their diversity. The festival will take over several venues in Ermont and the Val-d'Oise from mid-March to early April, offering dance, music, theater, performances, and exhibitions. The program will highlight original creations and women artists from the national and regional scene, in the spirit of support and visibility that has characterized Féminin Pluriel since its beginnings.
The festival takes place in various venues in Ermont (95120), mainly at Espace Germinal and in the city's cultural facilities.
