Organic market and eco-habitat at Edgard Pisani agricultural college
The Chaumont Organic Fair is the annual event for organic farming in Haute-Marne, organized every first weekend of October by GAB 52. Hosted at the Edgard Pisani agricultural college in Chamarandes-Choignes, this fair brings together about fifty exhibitors from the Grand Est region. Organic producers, artisans, and eco-habitat stakeholders offer organic products, sustainable housing solutions, and renewable energies in a friendly and committed atmosphere.
Since 2004, the Chaumont Organic Fair has been the main event dedicated to organic farming and sustainable development in Haute-Marne. Organized by the Groupement des Agrobiologistes de Haute-Marne (GAB 52), this event has grown over the years to become a must-attend event in the region, attracting thousands of visitors each year eager to discover the riches of regional organic produce.
The fair brings together about fifty exhibitors from Haute-Marne, the Grand Est region, and neighboring territories (Burgundy, Franche-Comté, Lorraine, Alsace). Visitors can find a wide variety of organic products:
Beyond food, the Chaumont Organic Fair places great importance on eco-habitat and renewable energies. Professionals in sustainable construction, ecological insulation, wood heating, and solar energy present their solutions for more environmentally friendly housing. This "eco-construction" aspect is what makes the event unique and addresses the growing concerns of residents regarding energy transition.
The fair is held on the grounds of the Edgard Pisani agricultural college, in Chamarandes-Choignes, near Chaumont. This setting is particularly suitable as the institution trains future generations of farmers and has an educational farm. Visitors can also take the opportunity to visit the college farm and discover the agricultural practices taught to the students.
Throughout the weekend, numerous activities will take place at the fair:
The Chaumont Organic Fair is more than just a market: it embodies GAB 52's commitment to the development of organic farming in Haute-Marne. By bringing together producers, consumers, and local stakeholders, it helps raise public awareness about the challenges of sustainable food, supports short supply chains, and promotes an agricultural model that respects the environment and health.
The 23rd edition of the Chaumont Organic Fair is expected on the first weekend of October 2026 at the Edgard Pisani agricultural college with its organic producers, artisans, and eco-habitat stakeholders.
