Festival à 2 Bulles: A Comic Strip Celebration in Niort
Every year since 2007, the lawns of the Moulin du Roc, a national stage nestled by the Sèvre Niortaise river, host the Festival à 2 Bulles, a unique event in the French comic strip festival landscape. Supported by the Niort'en Bulles association, this festival stands out with its original format: a renowned author is invited each year to take on the role of president and freely curate the program by inviting authors of their choice.
This rotating presidency principle ensures a constant renewal of the program and unique encounters between creators from diverse backgrounds. Since its creation, the festival has hosted major authors of the ninth art, from independent comics and graphic novels to manga and children's illustration.
A Weekend of Encounters and Discoveries
The Festival à 2 Bulles unfolds over two open-air days, with a rich program accessible to all audiences. Signing sessions are at the heart of the festival: about thirty authors are present to meet their readers, chat, and personalize their works. Exhibitions of original plates are set up on site, offering a privileged look at the artists' creative process.
Workshops, Conferences, and Activities
The festival places great importance on young audiences with comic strip creation workshops led by professional authors. Conferences and round tables allow for a deeper exploration of the themes addressed in the guests' works. Concerts and musical entertainment accompany the two days, transforming the site into a place of celebration and conviviality.
A Festival Rooted in Niort's Cultural Landscape
In nearly twenty years of existence, the Festival à 2 Bulles has established itself as a must-attend event in Niort's cultural life and a recognized festival in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine comic strip festival network. Its free admission, exceptional setting by the Sèvre river, and the quality of its programming make it an anticipated event for both comic strip enthusiasts and families.
The festival benefits from the support of the City of Niort, the Niortais Agglomeration Community, the Department of Deux-Sèvres, and the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region, as well as a partnership with the Moulin du Roc.
À 2 Bulles — edition 2026
The 18th edition of the Festival à 2 Bulles will be held on Friday, June 12 and Saturday, June 13, 2026 in Niort, mainly on the lawns of the Moulin du Roc. Under the presidency of author Anne Simon, this free edition brings together about forty comic book authors for two days of signings, workshops for young audiences, exhibitions, a school competition, a drawn karaoke evening, and a closing drag show at Camji.
18th Edition — June 12 and 13, 2026, chaired by Anne Simon
The Festival à 2 Bulles returns on Friday, June 12 and Saturday, June 13, 2026 in Niort for its 18th edition, under the presidency of author Anne Simon ("Marie Curie", "Chez Marylène, la frite est belle"). True to its founding principle, the president has curated the program by inviting authors of her choice.
An edition spread across several Niort locations
While the heart of the festival remains the lawns of the Moulin du Roc (national stage), the 2026 edition also spreads to the Pierre-Moinot media library (school drawing dictation, exhibitions), the Square Clouzot (open-air exhibition "Grand Cormoran" by Delphine Panique, from June 1 to 28), the Bar La Bulle (opening, exhibition of the Globulles fanzine, opening drawn karaoke), and the Camji (closing drag show evening).

The festival, a showcase for the Niort'en Bulles association
The Festival à 2 Bulles is the annual, free, and public event of the Niort'en Bulles association, created in 2006 by a handful of Niort comic book enthusiasts, notably around the cartoonist Guillaume Bouzard. The association also runs a reading club, school interventions, author meetings, and the Globulles fanzine throughout the year.

Access
By car: The Moulin du Roc is located at 9 boulevard Main, in the center of Niort. Access via the A10 (Niort-Nord or Niort-Est exit). Parking available nearby.
By train: Niort station (TGV from Paris in 2h15). The Moulin du Roc is a 10-minute walk from the station.
