The Toul Bach Festival was born in 2010 from the desire to make the work of Johann Sebastian Bach resonate in the magnificent religious buildings of Toul. In fifteen years of existence, the festival has become an unmissable summer event for lovers of classical and baroque music in Lorraine.

Exceptional venues

The strength of the Bach Festival lies in the choice of its concert venues, which are among the most beautiful religious buildings in the region:

• Collégiale Saint-Gengoult: a jewel of flamboyant Gothic architecture, it offers remarkable acoustics and a striking visual setting with its 13th-century listed cloister.
• Cathédrale Saint-Étienne: an imposing Gothic cathedral whose two-towered facade dominates the city of Toul. Its grand organ and majestic nave make it an ideal setting for great baroque works.

A program between tradition and discovery

Each summer, the festival offers a series of concerts spread from July to September, with a program structured around several axes:

• Bach's work: cantatas, concertos, sonatas, suites, and organ pieces form the core of the repertoire.
• Baroque and Classical: Vivaldi, Handel, Mozart, and other composers complete the program.
• Renowned artists and young talents: the festival makes it a point of honor to invite renowned performers while offering a platform to promising young musicians.

Since its creation in 2010, the Toul Bach Festival has continued to grow, attracting a loyal and increasingly large audience. The 15th edition in 2025 marked a symbolic milestone, confirming the festival's place in the Lorraine cultural landscape. The event contributes to the influence of the city of Toul and its exceptional architectural heritage, attracting music lovers from all over the Grand Est region.
