Nestled in the upper Loue valley, the village of Lods is classified among the Most Beautiful Villages in France and the Cities of Character of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté. It is in this exceptional heritage setting that the Baroque Festival in Lods takes place each summer, a series of baroque and classical music concerts within the magnificent Saint-Théodule church.

The Saint-Théodule ensemble under the direction of Emanuel Drzyzgula

The festival is driven by the Lods cultural association, which has brought together a high-quality string ensemble: the Saint-Théodule ensemble. Under the musical and artistic direction of Emanuel Drzyzgula, the ensemble performs the great works of the baroque and classical repertoire with passion and precision. Guest soloists enrich the programming of each edition.

A repertoire of the great masters

The festival offers a journey through the masterpieces of baroque and classical music. Over the editions, the public has been able to appreciate Pergolesi's Stabat Mater, Bach's Double concerto, Vivaldi's The Four Seasons, as well as works by Mozart and Handel. The remarkable acoustics of the Saint-Théodule church give these concerts a special dimension, between intimacy and grandeur.

Concerts in a historic setting

The Saint-Théodule church in Lods, with its typical Franche-Comté church architecture, offers a perfect setting for baroque music. Concerts are held on Saturdays at 5:30 PM and Sundays at 3:30 PM, allowing spectators to combine musical discovery with a visit to the village and its heritage treasures: winegrower houses, old castle, Vine and Wine Museum.

Lods, a village steeped in history

Crossed by the Loue river, this village of character bears witness to a rich wine and artisanal past. Its stone houses, medieval streets, and spectacular natural setting between limestone cliffs and forests make it an exceptional place for a music festival. Tickets are available at the Destination Loue Lison Tourist Office, with an accessible price of €10 per concert, €18 for a 2-concert pass, and free for under 16s.
