Rues en Scène — edition 2026
The festival did not take place in 2026. While this page previously announced a 5th edition for August 15, 2026, the event was not held. Visitors arriving that day found no street art performances in the town center.
On August 15, 2026, the program in Ornans featured different activities: a non-competitive pétanque meet organized by the C.A.L. starting at 5:00 PM, followed by an evening concert by Gabo Valencia, with food and drinks available on-site. The day before, Friday, August 14, Rue Pierre Vernier hosted the Grand Banquet Ornanais, featuring an accordion concert by Julien Locatelli.
The last edition of Rues en Scène was the 4th, held on August 15, 2025. The town of Ornans has not announced any new dates to date. This page will be updated as soon as a new edition is officially scheduled.

Ornans, an open-air stage
The Rues en Scène festival used to take over the historic center of Ornans every August 15th—a jewel of the Loue Valley and the birthplace of painter Gustave Courbet. For one evening, the narrow streets, bridges over the Loue river, and town squares became stages for live performances.
Circus arts, theater, and music
The program highlighted circus arts, street theater, and musical parades: jugglers, acrobats, actors, and street musicians filled the public space. Fantastical processions wound through the town, blending costumes, music, and drama. Children's shows were a major feature, making it a popular family outing.
Place Courbet at the heart of the festivities
The epicenter of the festival, Place Courbet, hosted the traditional fair with its rides and larger-scale performances. Refreshments and snacks were available, allowing visitors to spend the evening on-site, surrounded by the iconic houses overlooking the Loue.
A free and popular event
