Korean Culture Festival in Nancy
The Corée à Cœur Festival is a cultural event organized by the K-54 association at the MJC Pichon in Nancy. Dedicated to the discovery of South Korean culture, it offers a rich program combining K-pop concerts, traditional dance performances, exhibitions by Korean artists, conferences, K-drama screenings, culinary workshops, and tastings. Created in 2022, this festival brings French and Korean cultures closer together in a festive and friendly atmosphere.
The Corée à Cœur Festival is a unique cultural event in Lorraine, dedicated to the discovery and celebration of South Korean culture. Organized by the K-54 association, active for over ten years in Nancy in promoting Korean culture, the festival is held at the MJC Pichon and offers a rich and varied program that appeals to both Korea enthusiasts and the curious.
The festival gives pride of place to K-pop, a global musical phenomenon, with K-pop dance cover performances and concerts blending traditional Korean music and contemporary creations. Spectators can discover the enchanting sounds of the gayageum and janggu, traditional Korean instruments, alongside energetic K-pop choreography.
Korean artists residing in France or invited for the occasion exhibit their works at the MJC Pichon, offering a cross-perspective between Asian traditions and contemporary creativity. Paintings, calligraphies, photographs, and art installations form a visually rich and emotional journey.
Conferences led by specialists, such as those by Georges Arsenijevic from the Korean Cultural Center, explore Korean cultural codes, the history of Franco-Korean relations, and the contrasts between the two cultures. Screenings of K-dramas complete the audiovisual program.
Korean cuisine is in the spotlight with workshops on preparing traditional dishes and tastings offered by the caterer Kimchibap. Bibimbap, kimchi, tteokbokki, and other specialties allow visitors to travel through taste.
Founded in 2014, the K-54 association has been working from Nancy to promote Korean culture in Lorraine. Throughout the year, it offers Korean classes, Drama Party evenings, and cultural events at the MJC Pichon. The Corée à Cœur Festival, launched in 2022, is the annual highlight of its activities.
By bringing together the Korean community in Nancy and the general public, the Corée à Cœur Festival creates a valuable space for intercultural dialogue. The event demonstrates the vitality of Korean culture in France and the growing enthusiasm of the Lorraine public for hallyu, the Korean cultural wave.
