The show leaves the theater

Micropolis is a unique festival, driven by the Théâtre de la Manufacture, Centre dramatique national (CDN) of Nancy-Lorraine. Its founding principle is simple and bold: to offer performances designed to be staged anywhere but in a theater, by taking over the everyday spaces of the Manufacture district.

The Manufacture district as a playground

For three days, the Manufacture district transforms into a true performance village. The shows take place in places as varied as they are unexpected:

• The Conservatoire régional du Grand Nancy and the Salle Ravel
• The Pôle Herbert Simon and the Gymnase Jacques Jeanblanc
• The Médiathèque Manufacture and the Ludothèque Saint-Nicolas
• The Théâtre de la Manufacture itself, but in its unusual spaces
• The streets and squares of the district

Light and inventive artistic forms

Micropolis's programming highlights itinerant performances, meaning creations designed to travel and adapt to any space. These artistic forms, often light in technical means but rich in inventiveness, offer exceptional proximity to the audience. Theater, dance, puppetry, performances, storytelling: disciplines cross and mingle to create intimate and surprising artistic experiences.

A festival for everyone

Micropolis is designed as a popular and accessible festival. The performances are aimed at all audiences, from the youngest to adults, and the diversity of the spaces used allows it to reach spectators who do not usually frequent performance venues. It is also an opportunity for the residents of the district to rediscover their daily environment in a new light, transformed by the magic of live performance.

An expanding event

Since its creation, Micropolis has continued to grow, evolving from a niche event to an anticipated fixture of the Nancy spring season. The 5th edition in 2026 confirms the festival's place in Nancy's cultural landscape and its ability to innovate in live performance by bringing it closer to the public.
