Horticultural Paradises in the Land of Three Borders
The Jardins sans Limites network is a unique cross-border project in Europe, bringing together over twenty remarkable gardens spread across Moselle (France), Saar (Germany), and Luxembourg. From April to October, these gardens open their doors to visitors, offering an unparalleled horticultural experience where you can visit a garden in France in the morning, cross the border to another in Germany in the afternoon, and end the day in Luxembourg.
A Legacy of Cross-Border Cooperation
The project was born in the 1980s from a cooperation policy between the department of Moselle and the state of Saar. This pioneering initiative has created a coherent network of gardens that transcend national borders to offer a shared cultural and botanical experience.
The Gardens in the Network
Among the most remarkable gardens in the network are:
- Les Jardins Fruitiers de Laquenexy (Moselle): a true horticultural showcase of the department, hosting the annual Garden and Flavors Festival.
- Le Jardin des Faïenciers in Sarreguemines: a contemporary garden inspired by the city's ceramic history.
- The Monastery Gardens in Luxembourg: medieval gardens recreated in an exceptional historical setting.
- The Saar Gardens in Germany: several landscape creations along the Saar loop.
Seasonal Events and Activities
Throughout the opening season, Jardins sans Limites offers numerous events:
- Themed guided tours in each garden of the network.
- Gardening and floral art workshops for all ages.
- Festivals and garden fêtes, including the famous Garden and Flavors Festival at Les Jardins Fruitiers de Laquenexy.
- Temporary exhibitions of contemporary outdoor art.
