About Horror Convention

The Horror Convention - Le Salon de l'Étrange is an event dedicated to the world of horror, fantasy, and Halloween culture, organized by the Rigor Mortis association in the Verdun area, Meuse. This convention brings together artists, creators, artisans, tattoo artists, and enthusiasts around exhibitions, makeup stands, entertainment, and a costumed parade. During its first editions, the event was held in the fortified chapel of Dugny-sur-Meuse; it now takes place at the Marché couvert de Verdun, on Halloween weekend.

Horror comes to Grand Verdun

The Horror Convention, now known as "Le Salon de l'Étrange" (The Salon of the Strange), is an unusual event in the cultural landscape of Meuse. Organized by the Rigor Mortis association, it celebrates the world of horror, fantasy, and Halloween culture. Born in the gothic setting of the fortified chapel of Dugny-sur-Meuse, the event has since moved to the Marché couvert de Verdun, where it welcomes a public of horror culture enthusiasts every autumn.

A rich and unconventional program

Exhibitions and stands

The convention brings together artists, creators, and artisans specializing in the world of horror and the strange: paintings, sculptures, jewelry, accessories, costumes, and graphic works inspired by fantasy and horror pop culture. Each exhibitor brings their unique universe, creating a surprising and immersive visual journey.

Tattoo artists and makeup

Professional tattoo artists and makeup stands allow visitors to leave with a souvenir of the event or to transform themselves into horrific creatures.

Entertainment and Halloween parade

A costumed parade on the theme of Halloween, thematic entertainment, and on-site catering complete the program. Zombies, vampires, witches, and fantastic creatures take over the city streets in a spectacular procession.

The Rigor Mortis association

The Rigor Mortis association is a local cultural organization passionate about the world of horror and fantasy. It organizes this convention with the ambition of bringing together horror culture enthusiasts from the Grand Est region, around a free event open to all.
