Fire illuminates mining heritage
Each year for Halloween, the Parc Explor Wendel in Petite-Rosselle transforms into a magical place where fire, music, and dance unite to light up the former mine site. The Embrasement is the flagship show of the "Bêtes et Sorcières" festival, a night event that attracts thousands of visitors each year.
A multisensory show
The Embrasement offers an immersive artistic experience that unfolds across the entire mining site:
- Burning wooden sculptures: ephemeral works created specifically for the event are set ablaze one by one, creating a spectacular path of flames across the mine site.
- Music: a captivating soundtrack accompanies the show, creating an atmosphere between magic and mystery.
- Contemporary dance: dancers move among the flames in choreographies that blend grace and power.
Beyond the show
The evening is not limited to the Embrasement. The "Bêtes et Sorcières" festival offers a complete program:
- Adventure investigation at the Les Mineurs Museum: visitors conduct an investigation to solve riddles and discover clues to mysterious disappearances in the museum.
- Immersive mine tour: accompanied by former miners, visitors descend into the mine for a unique experience (available on November 1st).
- Halloween activities: face painting, creative workshops, and surprises punctuate the evening.
A place steeped in history
The Parc Explor Wendel is located on the site of the former Wendel mine, a key site of Lorraine's industrial heritage. The Les Mineurs Wendel Museum retraces the history of coal mining in Lorraine, while the Wendel Mine allows visitors to explore the restored underground galleries. The Embrasement highlights – literally – this exceptional heritage by transforming it into a living performance stage.
Themed dinner
To extend the experience, a themed dinner is offered by reservation. The adult menu (€26.90) includes free access to the Embrasement show. A children's menu (€14.90) is also available for those under 12.
A family event
The Embrasement and the "Bêtes et Sorcières" festival are aimed at all audiences. Children and adults alike are amazed by the fire show and the activities offered. Museum entry is free for children under 5.
