The comic strip festival of Bresles in the Oise
La Halle aux Bulles is a comic strip festival organized every year in September in Bresles, in the Oise department, by the team of the Madeleine Odent departmental media library. Under the open-air hall of Place du Linciau, about twenty authors and illustrators meet the public for signings, drawing workshops, live drawing battles, giant quizzes, and family activities.
Since its creation, the La Halle aux Bulles festival has enlivened the town of Bresles, south of Beauvais, every September. Organized by the team of the Madeleine Odent departmental media library, this free event transforms the Place du Linciau and its open-air hall into a true comic strip village.
Each edition hosts about twenty authors and illustrators of comic strips, manga, and children's illustration who come to sign their works and interact with readers. This direct contact between creators and their audience is at the heart of the festival's philosophy.
The festival is distinguished by the choice of an original theme renewed each year. In 2025, it was space that was in the spotlight, with activities and scientific workshops offered by Les Savants Fous. This annual theme inspires the festival's poster and guides part of the programming, bringing a touch of originality and renewal.
Beyond signings, the festival offers a rich program of activities: live drawing battles, giant digital quizzes, creative workshops offered by the leisure center, live drawing, and scientific workshops. These activities, designed for all ages, make La Halle aux Bulles a truly family-friendly and fun event.
Access to the festival and all activities is completely free. La Halle aux Bulles aims to be a popular and accessible event, where comic strips are celebrated in a spirit of sharing and discovery.
