Art photography at the Domaine de Chaumont-sur-Loire
Chaumont-Photo-sur-Loire is the photographic highlight of the Centre d'Arts et de Nature at the Domaine de Chaumont-sur-Loire. Every autumn and winter, from November to February, the estate dedicates all its exhibition spaces to art photography, showcasing the works of major photographers whose gaze focuses on the landscape and the living world. The exhibitions explore the artists' deep connection with the landscape, the memory of forms, the passage of time, and the hybridization of science and poetry, within the exceptional setting of the château, stables, and model farm.
Chaumont-Photo-sur-Loire is the annual photographic event of the Domaine de Chaumont-sur-Loire. Every autumn and winter, the Centre d'Arts et de Nature dedicates its entire winter exhibition spaces to art photography, transforming the château, stables, and model farm into a vast temporary photographic museum.
The exhibitions at Chaumont-Photo-sur-Loire feature works by leading international photographers, selected for their unique perspective on the landscape and the living world. The 2025/2026 edition brings together Guillaume Barth, Kim Boske, Tamás Dezső, Vincent Fournier, and Santeri Tuori, five artists with distinct universes who question the relationship between humans and their environment.
The exhibitions delve into profound themes: the memory of forms, the passage of time, the hybridization of science and poetry, and visibility and presence. Nature is revealed as both pictorial and sculptural, inviting visitors to slow down and immerse themselves in visual worlds where patience and observation reign.
The Domaine de Chaumont-sur-Loire, with its medieval château overlooking the Loire, its prestigious stables, and its model farm, offers a unique exhibition setting for photography. The historic rooms, architectural volumes, and natural light of the estate create a singular dialogue with the photographic works, enhancing the visual and emotional impact of the images.
Scheduled from November to February, Chaumont-Photo-sur-Loire provides an additional reason to visit the estate in winter, extending the cultural season well beyond the Garden Festival and the Art Season. The event thus complements the annual cycle of exhibitions at the Centre d'Arts et de Nature, making the Domaine de Chaumont-sur-Loire a vibrant center for artistic creation year-round.
