Génération Climat: Art in the Service of Ecological Commitment
Génération Climat is a one-of-a-kind festival, led by the Halle aux Grains – Scène nationale de Blois. Since its creation in 2022, this highlight of the Blois cultural season offers every January a program that combines artistic creation and reflection on the climate emergency, in a resolutely committed and accessible approach.
A Transdisciplinary Festival
The uniqueness of Génération Climat lies in its ability to bring together artists, scientists, activists, and citizens around a transdisciplinary program. Theater, dance, circus, and performance shows are alongside conferences, round tables, documentary screenings, and participatory workshops. This diversity of formats allows for addressing the climate issue from complementary angles: emotional, intellectual, collective, and creative.
Art as a Lever for Awareness
The festival is based on the observation that art has a unique power to touch sensibilities, disrupt perceptions, and open spaces for dialogue. By programming works that question our relationship with nature, ecosystems, and life, Génération Climat invites each spectator to rethink their connection to the world and imagine desirable futures.
Committed Artists
Each edition highlights artists whose work is infused with environmental issues. Whether they are playwrights, directors, choreographers, visual artists, or musicians, these creators explore the links between art and ecology, between aesthetics and ethics, between poetry and activism. Their works, presented at the Halle aux Grains and in partner venues in Blois, foster a fruitful dialogue with the festival's scientific and associative speakers.
A Festival for All Generations
True to its name, Génération Climat is aimed at all generations. Young audience shows, educational workshops, and mediation activities are offered to children and schoolchildren, while conferences and round tables allow adults to deepen their understanding of climate issues. The festival aims to be a space for intergenerational transmission and mobilization.
