Circ & Plus: Contemporary Circus Celebrated in Blois

Since its creation, Circ & Plus has celebrated contemporary circus arts every autumn in Blois and the surrounding Blésois region. Supported by the Halle aux Grains – Scène nationale de Blois, this Toussaint holiday festival has become a must-attend event for families and circus enthusiasts in the Centre-Val de Loire region.

A Rich and Accessible Program

Each edition of Circ & Plus features a selection of contemporary circus shows that showcase the vitality and diversity of current circus creation. Acrobatics, juggling, tightrope walking, trapeze, clowning, aerial dance, and hybrid performances blending circus, theater, dance, and music make up a program accessible to all audiences, from the youngest to the most discerning.

Multiple Venues, One Spirit

The festival takes over several venues in Blois and the surrounding area for its performances. The Halle aux Grains, of course, but also partner performance halls, tents, and outdoor spaces that reach a wide audience and bring circus closer to the residents. With about twenty performances spread over the ten days of the festival, Circ & Plus offers many opportunities to discover circus arts.

A Festival for Families

Circ & Plus stands out for its family-friendly dimension. Scheduled during the Toussaint holidays, the festival offers shows suitable for all ages, with special sessions for toddlers and creations for young audiences. Introductory workshops in circus arts — juggling, acrobatics, balancing — complement the program and allow children and adults to try their hand at circus disciplines in a fun and supervised environment.

Contemporary Circus in All Its Diversity

Far from the traditional image of a big-top circus, Circ & Plus highlights contemporary circus in all its creative richness. The featured companies push the boundaries of disciplines, invent new forms, and explore the relationship with the body, risk, and prowess. The festival thus contributes to the dissemination of a vibrant and evolving art form that appeals to an ever-wider audience.
