Festival des Cultures — edition 2026

The 2026 edition of the Festival des Cultures heads to the Brasserie Parisis in Combs-la-Ville on Friday, June 26th, and Saturday, June 27th. Friday kicks things off with a free-entry warm-up featuring the grunge sounds of Little Big Karma, followed by a Saturday night lineup featuring the Afro-pop-rock of Biguy Melindji & Afrorok, the electric maloya of Trans Kabar, the Afro-Mandingue rhythms of Diya Faso, and a DJ set by Professeur Shadoko, all for a flat fee of 5 €.

Two days of world music at the Brasserie Parisis

For its 2026 edition, the MJC L'Oreille Cassée's Festival des Cultures is taking over the Brasserie Parisis, located at 3 rue René Dumont in Combs-la-Ville. The event spans two evenings: a free-entry warm-up on Friday, June 26th, at 8:00 PM, followed by the main festival day on Saturday, June 27th, with doors opening at 4:00 PM. A bar, food options, activities, and craft stalls will complement the musical lineup.

A program blending maloya, Mandingue, and Afro-rock

The Friday warm-up features Little Big Karma, who channel the raw power of 1990s rock with massive guitars, gritty vocals, hypnotic basslines, and earth-shaking drums.

Saturday night begins at 6:30 PM with Biguy Melindji & Afrorok. The Ivorian musician, who has performed with the likes of Magic System, Papa Wemba, and Tiken Jah Fakoly, blends his love for pop-rock with his roots, playing the "battrady"—a drum kit fused with African percussion. At 8:00 PM, Trans Kabar brings a modern twist to the Reunionese Servis Kabaré, a festive ceremony rooted in slave rituals: four artists, plenty of room for improvisation, and rock-infused maloya rhythms carved from island blues. At 9:30 PM, Diya Faso brings together seven musicians led by Burkinabe singer and multi-instrumentalist Salifou Diarra for a fusion of Afro-Mandingue, groove, reggae, and Afrobeat, sung primarily in Dioula. Professeur Shadoko keeps the night going from 11:00 PM with a DJ set.

A multicultural festival in the heart of Sénart

The Festival des Cultures in Combs-la-Ville was born from the desire of the MJC L'Oreille Cassée to create a popular and festive event celebrating the richness of world cultures. Located at Parc Arthur Chaussy, a 22-hectare green space in the heart of the town, the festival transforms this walking area each year into a stage open to the world, where music, dances, flavors, and traditions from all continents meet.

A mixed and committed musical program

The strength of the Festival des Cultures lies in its resolutely eclectic and mixed musical program. The 2024 edition hosted Roforofo Jazz (afrobeat), Smokin'Fuzz (reggae ska funk), Los Tres Puntos (ska punk), and Les Ramoneurs de Menhirs (Breton punk). In 2025, the festival offered an expanded format over two dates, notably featuring Christine Audat's trio Hamaca and the group Amarouka & Les Kokos for a Caribbean rock concert. This bold programming mixes established artists and emerging groups from the world, ska, and punk scene.

Much more than a music festival

Beyond the concerts, the Festival des Cultures offers a rich and varied animation village. Percussion workshops open to all ages, world dance demonstrations, craft stands, and a children's area with inflatable games, graffiti workshops, and giant games make up a complete festive offering. World food is available on-site, allowing visitors to extend the celebration by tasting culinary specialties from around the globe.

A festival driven by local community life

The Festival des Cultures is organized by the MJC L'Oreille Cassée, a very active youth and culture center in the town of Combs-la-Ville. Thanks to the commitment of many volunteers and the support of the municipality, the festival contributes to living together and social connection in this town in Sénart, Seine-et-Marne. Each edition is an opportunity to unite residents around values of sharing, openness, and cultural discovery.
