Cinema and Music United
Cinézic is a festival dedicated to musical films, celebrating the meeting of music and cinema since 2016. Organized by the Cinézic association in partnership with the Écran Village association, founded in 1983, this festival takes place every year in November in Vernoux-en-Vivarais, at the Louis Nodon Cultural Space. For three days, the festival offers a program of musical film screenings, cine-concerts, and meetings with directors.
Fiction, Documentaries, and Cine-Concerts
Cinézic's programming covers the entire spectrum of musical film: fiction films in which music plays a central role, documentaries dedicated to musicians, musical movements, or cultural phenomena related to music, and cine-concerts where musicians perform live the soundtrack of a projected film. This diversity of formats allows the festival to reach a wide audience, from cinephiles to music lovers and those curious about hybrid artistic forms.
The Caillettes d'Or, Festival Award
For its 10th edition in 2025, Cinézic created the Caillettes d'Or, a new award recognizing the best films presented during the festival's first ten editions. The awards are presented in three categories: fiction, documentary, and cine-concert. This award, with a name evocative of an Ardèche culinary specialty, illustrates the local roots and humor that characterize the festival.
The Espace Culturel Louis Nodon
The festival takes place at the Espace Culturel Louis Nodon, a performance and screening venue in Vernoux-en-Vivarais, a town located in the heart of Ardèche, halfway between Privas and Valence. This cultural space, renovated and adapted for film projection, offers a comfortable and friendly setting for the three days of the festival. The small capacity of the venue encourages interaction between the audience and the invited filmmakers.
A Historic Partnership with Écran Village
The Écran Village association, founded in 1983, has been working for over forty years to promote cinema in rural areas of Ardèche. Its partnership with the Cinézic association provides the festival with on-the-ground expertise and a distribution network rooted in the territory. Together, the two associations offer the inhabitants of Vernoux-en-Vivarais and surrounding communities a high-quality cinematic event, contributing to the cultural vitality of rural Ardèche.
