A week of fun activities for all ages in the Pays Morcenais
The Festival du Jeu en Pays Morcenais is a week dedicated to games of all kinds. Organized in October during the Toussaint holidays, this traveling festival takes over six towns in the region. The program includes: youth cinema, creative workshops, motor skills courses, robotics, inflatable structures, giant games, climbing wall, retro gaming, and Roller Disco. Free and inclusive, this family festival celebrates the joy of playing and intergenerational sharing.
The Festival du Jeu en Pays Morcenais is a unique event in the Landes region, offering an entire week of fun activities for all ages. Organized during the Toussaint holidays, this festival transforms the Pays Morcenais territory into a vast playground where sports, creative, digital, and traditional activities meet.
The originality of the Game Festival lies in its traveling nature. Each day of the week, a different town hosts the activities: Arengosse, Lesperon, Morcenx-la-Nouvelle, Onesse-Laharie, Ousse-Suzan, and Ygos-Saint-Saturnin. This organization allows the entire territory to be covered and provides easy access for residents of each town.
The festival's program is exceptionally rich. The youngest can enjoy motor skills courses, sensory workshops, and animated films shown in local cinemas. Children and teenagers can engage in giant wooden games, inflatable structures, troll ball, climbing wall, and robotics. Video game enthusiasts will find a retro gaming area with vintage consoles.
The Roller Disco is one of the most anticipated moments of the week. The Lesperon gymnasium transforms into a roller-skating dance floor, with light shows, upbeat music, and a guaranteed festive atmosphere. This flagship event attracts a large audience, from children to adults.
The Game Festival is designed to be accessible to everyone. Inclusive spaces are set up for people with disabilities, and workshops are adapted to different age groups. All activities are free, except for cinema screenings, making this festival truly open to all families in the region.
Organized by the Communauté de communes du Pays Morcenais in partnership with local associations and the inter-municipal media library, the festival benefits from a strong network of actors committed to animating the territory. The event helps to strengthen social ties and the cultural vitality of the Pays Morcenais.
The festival takes place in six towns in the Pays Morcenais, with a different program each day:
Activities generally run from 10 am to 5 pm, except for special evening events (Roller Disco in the evening in Lesperon). The detailed program, with schedules per town, is available on the Pays Morcenais website and at the Tourist Office.
All activities are free, except for cinema screenings (reduced price). No prior registration is required for most activities. Robotics workshops may require on-site registration.
The Pays Morcenais is located in the heart of the Landes, between Dax (40 km) and Mont-de-Marsan (50 km). Morcenx-la-Nouvelle, the main town of the territory, is accessible from the A63 motorway (Morcenx exit). Free parking is available near the activity venues in each town.
The Morcenx SNCF station is served by the Bordeaux-Dax line (TER Nouvelle-Aquitaine). The station is located in the center of Morcenx-la-Nouvelle, close to the activity venues.
