Driven by a dynamic association, Les Dragoniales is a must-attend event for geek culture in the Southwest.
Les Dragoniales is the first fantasy and imaginary fair created in the Landes department. Born in 2023 from the passion of a team of volunteers, this event has quickly found its audience and established itself as a major event for lovers of fantasy, science fiction, steampunk, manga, and geek culture in the Southwest of France.
Each edition of Les Dragoniales brings together about forty exhibitors from all over the region and beyond. Visitors can meet authors of fantasy, science fiction, and imaginary literature, illustrators with fascinating graphic universes, specialized publishers, and craft creators offering jewelry, decorative weapons, costumes, figurines, and art objects inspired by fantasy worlds.
A highlight of the fair, the cosplay competition brings together participants of all levels who compete in creativity to embody their favorite characters from the worlds of fantasy, cinema, manga, and video games. From Stormtroopers to Vikings, from Hobbits to medieval knights, the parade offers a colorful spectacle enjoyed by all visitors.
Beyond cosplay, Les Dragoniales offers numerous activities: role-playing game sessions, medieval combat demonstrations, creative workshops, quizzes, and themed games. Book signing sessions allow visitors to meet authors and illustrators in a friendly and warm atmosphere.
The fair is embodied by Kiyu, an endearing mascot who accompanies each edition and unites the fan community. Kiyu appears on communication materials, merchandise, and at the fair's events, adding a touch of magic to the event.
Since its creation, Les Dragoniales has continued to grow, attracting an increasingly large and diverse audience. The fair has expanded its program to include a Fantasy Book Fair and themed film nights, such as "La Nuit du Fantastique," confirming its ambition to become the unmissable event for the imaginary in the Landes.
