Automne en Scène 2026
The intercommunal tourist office has listed the dates for Automne en Scène 2026—Wednesday, October 21st to Thursday, October 29th—on their "Major Events" page. This is the only information currently available; as of mid-August, the theme, event list, schedule, and pricing remain unknown.
The format remains largely consistent from year to year. The 2025 edition featured around twenty events across Mimizan, Bias, Mézos, Saint-Paul-en-Born, and Pontenx-les-Forges, including guided nature outings, children's workshops, heritage tours, cooking classes, lectures, and a concert by the Mimizan wind band. While much of the program is free, some activities cost between €12 and €15 and require advance booking.
The full program is typically released in early September. In 2025, the poster and dedicated event page were published on mimizan-tourisme.com between September 2nd and 10th. Automne en Scène: The Autumn Gathering in the Mimizan Region
Automne en Scène is organized annually during the Toussaint school holidays by the Mimizan Intercommunal Tourist Office in the Landes region. For one week, the event invites visitors to explore the local landscapes, heritage, and traditions through nature outings, workshops, guided tours, lectures, and a concert. The 2025 edition, running from October 22nd to 29th, marks the seventh year of the festival—or as the local radio station Fréquence Grands Lacs puts it, the seventh year, "almost consecutively."
Five Towns, Natural Sites, and Heritage Gems
Activities take place across Mimizan, Bias, Mézos, Saint-Paul-en-Born, and Pontenx-les-Forges. The setting spans the ocean, the national forest, the Lake of Aureilhan and its wetlands, the Forges pond, traditional Landes airials and houses, as well as more intimate indoor spaces like restaurant kitchens, the interior of the Mimizan bell-tower porch, and the Chapelle à la Mer.
A New Theme Every Year
Each edition follows a specific theme. In 2025, the focus is on Maylis, the Ocean Mermaid, a character inspired by the Mimizan harmony band "La Sirène de l'Océan" and the weather vane on the bell-tower porch. The overarching theme is habitat, with water in all its forms—ocean, lake, stream, river, and fountain—serving as the common thread.
Organizers
The intercommunal tourist office, led by Nathalie Bernet, collaborates with around fifteen partners: AAPPMA Mimizan, Adremca, Amis de Bouricos, ASEM Histoire et Traditions, La Faune Landaise, Mimizan ASEM Photos, La Sirène de l'Océan, Somyla, Un Troupeau pour la Vie, the ONF, the Mimizan municipal environmental department, the Musée-Prieuré, Les Ruchers du Born, the Compagnie des Landes forestry group, the restaurant Chez Nous, the wine merchant Vin'Aroha, and visual artist Evelyne Gardinal.
