2nd Edition — September 18 and 19, 2026
Following a successful debut on October 3 and 4, 2025, Cap La Hèsta returns to Cap de Pin in Solférino on Friday, September 18, and Saturday, September 19, 2026. The Équipage du Béret Noir has announced eight bands and one DJ performing across two stages: the Frégate and the Goélette.
The Musical Lineup
Friday the 18th features Bosler & Fordson (rock-blues, featuring a slapping double bassist and a guitarist-singer who also plays drums with his feet), Franck & Damien (a Bordeaux duo playing blues, folk-rock, and country roots with slide guitar and banjo), Pork’N Roll (five musicians from the Landes region playing bluesy punk-rock), and DT3R (electro rock, a style the band calls “chill rock”). Saturday the 19th features: Graines de Sel (six musicians from Gers playing accordion, Gascon bagpipes, saxophone, and guitars), KARTEL (rock), Wyman Low (roots reggae, former backing musician for Max Roméo), and Es Lo Que Hay (festive music with a brass section, a staple of the Landes scene for over twenty years). Thirteen B, a DJ born in Dax, will take over the Goélette Stage both nights, spinning a mix of house, techno, post-punk, and Italo disco.
Beyond the Music
The immersive exhibition “In the Footsteps of Jean Lafitte” chronicles the life of the Gascon pirate through period sets, soundscapes, and reconstructed objects. Two treasure hunts run throughout the weekend, one with simple riddles for children and another more challenging course for adults. The festival village also features traditional games, cultural speakers, pine resin tapping demonstrations, local artisan stalls, and a booth from the Gasconha Antifa collective featuring a collaborative mural.
On-site
Food is provided by the restaurant À la Bonne Fourchette, using local ingredients; the tavern serves local craft beer, sodas, and syrups. Tent and vehicle camping areas are available on-site. Tickets are available online via HelloAsso. As of mid-August 2026, ticket prices, set times, and the street performance schedule have not been publicly released.

Cap La Hèsta: The Gascon Pirate Festival in Solférino
Cap La Hèsta takes place at the Cap de Pin site, deep in the Landes forest in Solférino. Organised by the L’Équipage du Béret Noir association, the festival blends Gascon culture, pirate lore, and contemporary creativity over the course of a weekend.
An original concept: Pirates and Gascony
The name is a play on words: 'cap' refers to the traditional Landes headdress and the beret, while 'hèsta' means party in Gascon. The association translates 'Cap la Hèsta' as 'towards the party'. The festival weaves together pirate tales with the history and traditions of Gascony, featuring music, street performances, crafts, and local heritage.
The legacy of Jean Lafitte
The festival highlights the life of Jean Lafitte, the Gascon pirate and privateer who once ruled the waters of the Gulf of Mexico. An immersive exhibition retraces his childhood in the Landes, his voyages to the Americas, and his naval battles through elaborate sets, soundscapes, and reconstructed artefacts.
What to expect
Concerts on two stages, the Frégate and the Goélette. Street arts including immersive shows, roving performances, and acts. Activities for all ages, such as treasure hunts, traditional games, and cultural workshops. Heritage displays featuring the Jean Lafitte exhibition, pine resin tapping demonstrations, and local artisan stalls. Plus, enjoy Landes cuisine made with local ingredients.
