A classical music festival in the heart of Chalosse

The Moments Musicaux en Chalosse were born in 2003 from the passion of violinist Luc Durosoir, a descendant of composer Lucien Durosoir, for chamber music and the heritage of Chalosse, a hilly region in the south of the Landes. For over twenty years, this itinerant festival has resonated with classical music in the most beautiful heritage sites of this charming region.

Discovery, Excellence, Novelty, Young Talents

The festival remains true to its four founding principles: Discovery of little-known repertoires, Excellence of the invited performers, Novelty of the programs offered, and highlighting of Young Talents on the classical scene. Each edition offers a carefully crafted program that mixes famous repertoire works and rare pieces that the audience discovers with growing pleasure.

Exceptional heritage sites

One of the festival's unique features is the choice of its concert venues. The Moments Musicaux take over the most beautiful heritage buildings in Chalosse: the Espace Henri Emmanuelli in Mugron, the majestic Château de Gaujacq, the Romanesque churches of Laurède, Horsarrieu, Ozourt, and Caupenne, the church of Montfort-en-Chalosse, and the magnificent crypt of Saint-Girons in Hagetmau. These historic sites offer remarkable acoustics and an intimate atmosphere that enhance the musical experience.

An excellent program

Each season offers five to six concerts spread between June and September, featuring various ensembles: piano recitals, violin-piano duos, trios, quartets, and orchestral ensembles. The festival regularly invites renowned artists such as the Ensemble Orchestral de Biarritz, the Trio Hélios, as well as laureates from the most prestigious conservatories and music academies.

A festival rooted in its region

Les Moments Musicaux en Chalosse are part of an initiative to promote the heritage and the Chalosse region. The concerts are often an opportunity to discover places usually closed to the public, and the festival contributes to the cultural influence of this rural territory by attracting a loyal audience from all over the southwestern France.
