A festival dedicated to the Boulanger sisters

Created in 2023 by the Association des Amis du Festival Nadia et Lili Boulanger, this festival celebrates the exceptional musical heritage of Nadia Boulanger (1887-1979), a legendary pedagogue and conductor, and her younger sister Lili Boulanger (1893-1918), the first woman to win the Prix de Rome for composition. Trouville-sur-Mer was chosen as the host town because the two sisters spent part of their childhood there and Lili gave her very first concert there.

A rich and eclectic program

Each edition of the festival unfolds over three days, at the beginning of June, and offers a varied program: chamber music concerts, recitals, musicological lectures, documentary film screenings, readings, and school concerts. The emblematic venues of Trouville — the Salon des Gouverneurs du Casino Barrière, the hotel Les Cures Marines, and the Hôtel de Ville — host the various events.

Renowned artists

The festival attracts leading musicians. The 2025 edition hosted the Quatuor Lakmé and pianist Jean-François Zygel for an exceptional recital. The 2026 edition, presided over by Julie Depardieu, will welcome pianist Nathaël Goin, guitarist Emmanuel Rossfelder, and violinist and violist Michael Barenboim.

Homage and transmission

Beyond the concerts, the festival focuses on the transmission of the Boulanger sisters' heritage through educational meetings, exhibitions of unpublished archives at the Hôtel de Ville, and documentary screenings, such as Bruno Monsaingeon's film Mademoiselle dedicated to Nadia Boulanger or Il était une fois Michel Legrand, a student of Nadia.
