About Jazz en Feux
The Jazz en Feux Festival is a summer event that animates the Citadelle du Château-d'Oléron for three to four evenings in August. Labeled Sites en Scène, this festival offers varied jazz concerts on the citadel's esplanade, ranging from tributes to Sidney Bechet to contemporary groups like Thomas Leleu, Bourbon Street, or Papa Soul Club. Each edition concludes with a spectacular 360° firework display that illuminates the Vauban fortifications. Paid and free concerts, with on-site catering.

Jazz in a Heritage Setting
The Jazz en Feux Festival takes place in the exceptional setting of the Citadelle du Château-d'Oléron, a 17th-century Vauban fortification. Labeled Sites en Scène, this summer festival is part of the departmental cultural program of Charente-Maritime and offers three to four evenings of quality jazz concerts in August.
An Eclectic Jazz Program
The festival's program explores all facets of jazz: tributes to great names like Sidney Bechet, contemporary jazz with Thomas Leleu and his show "Born to groove", traditional ensembles like Bourbon Street, or fusion groups like Papa Soul Club in a brass version. Concerts take place on the citadel's esplanade from 9 PM, creating a unique atmosphere blending heritage and music.
Spectacular Firework Finale
Each edition ends with a 360° pyrotechnic firework display that lights up the sky around the citadel after the last concert. This light show, launched from the ramparts, offers a majestic finale to the festival. The citadel closes its doors on the day of the last concert to allow for the installation of the pyrotechnic system. Fast food is available on-site during concerts.
