MM Festival
Baroque music festival in La Rochelle, featuring the il Convito ensemble
2026
About MM Festival
Every year in early October, the MM Festival brings together a series of concerts and performances centered on Baroque music in La Rochelle. Founded in 2017 by harpsichordist Maude Gratton, the festival is built around the il Convito ensemble, which she directs and which performs in most of the concerts alongside guest artists. The festival takes place in various venues across the city center, including churches, the Temple, the Salle de l'Oratoire, and the Natural History Museum. Each edition follows a specific musical theme and brings together musicians from the MM Orchestra—a local amateur ensemble—with the program's headline performers.
MM Festival — edition 2026
For its 10th anniversary, running from September 30th to October 4th, 2026, the MM Festival celebrates a decade of the il Convito ensemble, centered on the works of Johann Sebastian Bach. The program features mezzo-soprano Lucile Richardot for two evenings of cantatas, harpsichordist Pierre Hantaï, cellist Bruno Cocset and Les Basses Réunies celebrating their 30th anniversary, as well as choreographer Noé Soulier with his creation Grabbing, Pushing, Thrusting.
